  • What are the hours of operation?

  • What should children wear?
    Shoes, the floors can be slippery and wet during poor weather. Clean and dry your shoes before play or bring a pair to wear.  Allow your children to wear something comfortable. They will be very active in the Play Space.

  • What is the cost of admission?
    $5.00 per family- up to five people living in the same household. $1 per person for each additional person.

     

  • Memberships are available for purchase. The cost is $75 per family. Please go to the Membership page for more information. Memberships can be purchased at the front desk.

  • What form of payments do you accept?
    We prefer cash. There is an ATM located in our building. When you use a credit card the Play Space is charged multiple fees per transaction.

    $10 minimum with  MasterCard and Visa. The difference will be credited to your Play Space account.

  • Where is the Play Space located?
    Play Space is located at 63 Genesee St., Auburn, NY 13021. Its across from Wegmans.  At the intersection of Genesee St. and Route 34.

  • What is the age range for the Play Space?
    We welcome children from birth to six years of age. Our exhibits are developed with children 0-6 years in mind.

  • How long does the visit last?
    Because every child is different, it’s difficult to put a specific length of time on your visit. An average visit can last up to two hours.

  • Are you stroller friendly?
    We do not allow strollers in the Play Space exhibit area. Whenever possible we recommend you leave them behind.

  • Do you have stroller parking?
    We have a small designated area in the Play Space for strollers.

  • Are you wheelchair accessible?
    The Play Space main level is accessible.

  • Can I just drop off my child, and pick them up in a few hours?
    No. The Play Space is designed for adults and children to learn and play together. Children must be accompanied by someone at least 18 years old.

  • I don’t have any children but I am a kid at heart, can I come and enjoy the Play Space?
    We do not allow adults to enter the Play Space without children. We also do not admit children without an adult. If you are interested in viewing our Play Space we will be happy to give you a brief tour of our facility. Tours are subject to availability.

  • Where can we eat?
    We have accommodations for eating in the snack area. All food and drinks must stay in the designated snack area. There are a few public spaces and restaurants within walking distance.

  • Do you have an ATM?
    No. There are several ATMs within walking distance and one in the building.

  • Can I leave and come back in?
    Your admission is good only on the date admission is purchased. If you would like to leave for lunch and come back on the same day — you will need to get a hand stamp. You will need to show stamp when you re-enter. If the Play Space is at capacity, you will need to wait until capacity opens up.

  • Do you have a family restroom?
    We have three restrooms. The family restroom equipped with a changing table is located near the creative art space.

  • What is your security policy?
    Your family’s safety and security are our highest priorities. Adults must be accompanied by a child on the exhibit floor, and children must be accompanied by an adult on the exhibit floor. Staff are always here to assist you. Remember to have fun with and supervise your children.

  • How can I help?
    Because the Play Space is a non-profit organization, we are always looking for help from the community. Volunteering is a great way to get involved with the Play Space. We have a strong need for consistent volunteers. It is a wonderful opportunity to help a child experience the delight of learning. Check the volunteer page on the website.
