Friendly, professional, helpful

One of the things that really sets the Play Space apart is our caring, credentialed staff. Whenever you visit, you’re greeted by friendly, welcoming professionals with a passion for enriching the lives of children and families through play.

Play Facilitators

The Play Space is staffed by a dedicated team of Play Facilitators whose mission is to support children and families during playtime. Our Play Facilitators have extensive experience working with young children in various settings. In addition to welcoming and orienting children and families to the Play Space, they fulfill many important roles, including:

- Playing alongside children to enrich and enhance their play experience

- Encouraging children to try new activities or join in with others

- Providing additional toys and materials as needed or requested

- Offering an extra pair of hands (we love to hold babies while you help your toddler or preschooler!)

- Maintaining a safe and inviting play environment, and encouraging children and families to assist in keeping it organized

- Answering parents' questions and sharing observations about children's play and development

- Providing information about community resources available for children and families

Their goal is to create a joyful and safe play environment for every child.

Meet our Director

Kim Winslow, Director of Children’s Programs

Kim has worked in preschool settings prior to her training as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. Eight years in this role led her to the Early Intervention Coordinator position for Cayuga County. We are fortunate to have Kim in her role here at Play Space.

Kim has loved her time at Play Space as both an aunt and a mother. She shares, “This space has always been nurturing and enjoyable for my family, and I’m excited to contribute! My goal is to ensure every visitor feels welcomed, valued, and safe.” Working with Executive Director Nancy Tehan and the team of play facilitators, Kim is dedicated to enriching young children's lives and creating a warm environment for families to play and learn together.
